Abbie’s new haircut makes her ready to go for a debutante ball or summer cotillion. Until then, she’ll be satisfied making the toads (uh… girls) at day camp wish they were her. Donned by many a princess (and Olympic hopeful), Abbie’s cut is light and sporty for her fast-paced lifestyle. The Women of Industry newsletter reports Abbie as an up and comer who is making all the right choices while she is young to become a force in the business world. Modern Bride magazine’s latest ‘What to do to get a man’ feature touts Abbie as the girl to watch. A stunning bachelorette, ready to grab hold of a rich man. Broadway Today and Playbill are holding their collective breath, already envisioning Abbie as the ravishing Elle Woods in a sequel to Legally Blonde. Put on your tap shoes and high hats darlings… Abbie is dancing up the Great White Way!

Abbie and I decided to choose the coldest day so far to venture into Manhattan. Destination American Girl Place. First, we went into Toys-R-Us because she couldn’t believe it had a full size ferris wheel inside. We had our picture taken and peeked around the store while we waited for the pictures. Abbie was on a mission to get to AGP, so we hurried. What I thought was an upscale boutique on Fifth Avenue turned out to be a gazillion bratty girls cashing in all the $5 gift certificates they got throughout the year. They travelled with their bulldozer, backstage, pageant moms… most of whom couldn’t afford to take their daughters there without all those gift cards, but pushed and shoved their way past little girls like they had just become a major shareholder in Mattel.
